Free to use, with no account, no usage limit and no watermark, because the work runs on your device rather than on our servers.
This is not a promise about how carefully we handle your upload. There is no upload. The file you choose is read into memory by your own browser, processed there, and handed back as a download — the tool has no server component and makes no network request with your data.
- Nothing is stored. We never receive the file, so there is no copy to retain, no retention period to disclose, and nothing to delete on request.
- Nothing is transmitted. No upload endpoint, no analytics payload carrying file contents, no third-party processor.
- You can verify it. Load this page, disconnect from the internet, and use the tool. It still works, because everything it needs is already on your machine.
- Nothing persists after you close the tab. Files are held in page memory only — not in local storage, not in a cache, not in a database.
A note on wording, because it matters: we do not describe these tools as “encrypted.” Encryption protects data that travels to somebody else's computer. Your file does not travel, so there is nothing to encrypt and nothing to intercept — which is a stronger guarantee than encryption, not a weaker one. The page itself is served over HTTPS like the rest of the site.
This makes the tools safe for material you are contractually barred from uploading to third-party services — client footage under NDA, unreleased campaign assets, anything covered by a confidentiality clause.
How it works
1. Drop an image
JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 40 MB. It is decoded in this tab and never uploaded.
2. Choose the grid
Pick 3x1, 3x2 or 3x3 and the tile shape, then zoom and move the crop. The preview shows the tiles on a profile grid with the posting order on each tile.
3. Split
Each tile is rendered at 1080 px wide with high-quality downscaling, as JPEG or PNG.
4. Download and post
Download a ZIP or single tiles. Post 01 first and the highest number last, with nothing in between.
Questions
What size should Instagram grid tiles be?
1080x1440 pixels. Instagram's profile grid switched from square to 3:4 portrait thumbnails in January 2025, Instagram has accepted 3:4 photos uncropped since May 2025, and the maximum photo width is still 1,080 pixels. A 3:4 tile therefore fills its grid cell exactly and also shows whole in the feed.
In what order do I post the tiles?
Start with the file numbered 01, which is the bottom-right tile, and finish with the highest number, the top-left tile. The profile grid shows your newest post first, so the image assembles from the bottom up. Post them one after another with nothing in between.
Can I still make a square 3x3 grid?
Yes, choose 1:1. Be aware that today's grid shows only the middle 75% of a square post, so the picture will not line up across tiles on current profiles. Switch the preview between today's 3:4 grid and the old square grid to see the difference before you export.
What happens when I post something new later?
Every new post pushes all tiles one place along, which breaks the picture. Post later content in threes to shift it by a whole row. Pinned posts also sit at the start of the grid, so unpin them or plan around them.
Why does the tool warn that tiles may look soft?
Each 3:4 tile is 1080 pixels wide, so a 3-column grid needs a source at least 3,240 pixels wide to avoid enlarging. When your crop is narrower than that, the tool says how many pixels each tile really gets.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Splitting uses the browser's canvas on your device and the ZIP is built in the page. Nothing is sent to Versely.
